As Bridget Bishop looked at the small crowd gathering she said before the box was pulled “I am not a witch, i’m innocent”. The crowd yelled “LIAR” and the the box was pulled, only a rope sustaining Bridget Bishop. This happened during 1692 in Salem. Why were 20 people in Salem hung? What was the cause? One of the causes for the Salem Witch Trials was that little girls envied the older women’s power. They were also “ Drunk With Power” as they kept accusing older women. Also the poor were jealous of the rich people, which also started the witch trials. All in all, little girls who were “ Drunk with Power” started the Salem Witch Trials. Little girls accused older women of witchcraft. Why did the little girls accuse the older women of witchcraft? There are many answers, but the number one is that the little girls were jealous of the older women’s power. That’s why they accused the older women. This proves that is why the little girls were jealous of the other power, and that is one of the reasons why the Salem Witch Trials were caused. (Doc. The accusers were the poor ones and the accused were the rich ones. The poor people were the ones that didn’t get the food but they did all the hard work for the rich people.
