With more revenue coming in overall, in Saipan’s case - from tourists-, the money is returned into the market and is therefore spread across the community. If the sales of a business are steadily getting lower, then business managers will have no choice but to either cut some of the employees’ work hours and or to terminate some of their employees from duty. Without the sufficient amount of funds to sustain the wages for their employees, the cutting of work hours may very well be the end result. The cutting of hours will then lead to the shortage of work hours and will cause employee wages to be reduced. When people have little money to spend, albeit on daily necessities or wants, they’ll have no choice but to be more decisive on what they would buy in order to satisfy all of their needs. As a result, less money will be invested into the market and money circulation would be scarce. This will slowly cause the economy to collapse steadily head towards a time of overflowing poverty. In regards to increased number of tourists coming to Saipan for a vacation, this can lead to environmental issues. The more people who are unknowledgeable about the rules and proper ethics of the islands would always pose a threat because they wouldn’t practice the proper etiquette that the local people possess. Pollution is a major problem here in Saipan that involves the tourists whenever they visit. Although there are designated areas and trash cans that everyone could access, there are times when tourists do not throw their trash in the trash cans. Instead, they would throw them on the ground and would be eventually carried over to the beaches and into the ocean whenever it rains. For the islanders, throwing trash in the designated trash cans is a no brainer, because this is their island and they wish to preserve it. However, as for tourists who are only staying for a short period of time, some do not care for their actions and are not concerned with the problems that will arise from pollution. The Grotto is a famous place to go swimming, especially with its pristine and clear waters; however, recently the Grotto has been red flagged.
