The theme of brotherhood is a key factor in Saints and Soldiers. The saying “never leave a man behind” is very apparent and is shown through all of the soldiers. Nathan Greer was a very top-notch man, he did not smoke or drink and he was very religious, giving him the nickname Deacon. During the film Deacon hallucinates multiply times, seeing a doll, a child, a mother and a family.
