Saint Peter who is also known as Simon Peter, Simeon, and Simon. According to the New Testament , Peter was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. Peter’s father John or Jonah lived in a village of Bethsaida. Also, Peter’s brother, Andrew, was also an apostle. In additon, according to Christianity, Peter was crucified under in Rome for Emperor Nero Augustus Caesar. They say he himself wanted to be crucified, he wanted to hang himself because he thought that he was unworthy of being crucified Jesus was. Saint Peter is once again known as ‘’Simon” and is explained ‘’the well known custom as Jews at the time giving the name of a famous personage of the Testament…” St. Peter was given an Aramic name ‘’Kepha’’, meaning ‘rock’ or ‘crag’.
