After Augustine returned home he told Saint Monica about his studies and education. Saint Monica then had a vision that told her to go with her son when he is to set out again. Before that Monica made a visit to the Bishop, The bishop later told her “The child of those tears will never perish”. Also when saint Monica was alive she always prepared wine for the saints until she later on found out by the bishop that was false thing to do as it represented greed. Monica did follow through and went to Rome with Augustine. Augustine was baptised and wrote a book called “Confessions”. Augustine recorded beautiful words she had said to him along with him on his journey for Catholicism. Six months later Augustine was baptised. Sadly Monica grew ill and passed away. Her son kept writing beautiful passages about his mother’s love. These passages were very specific about the love she bestowed upon him as a child. Augustine carried on Monica’s love and reputation she had for everyone she cared for. Saint Monica was eventually canonized pre-congregation. In 1430 Pope Martin V demanded her relics must be brought to Rome, Many strange things happened such as miracles. Saint Monica’s prayer:
Saint Monica,
-I need your prayers.
-You know exactly how I'm feeling because you once felt it yourself.
-I'm hurting, hopeless, and in despair.
-I desperately want my child to return to Christ in his Church
