Saint Lucy's Mondette Human Quotes

How did Claudette adapt over time from a wolf ready to kill anything it sees, to a functioning human? Claudette and her wolf sisters were sent by their parents to St. Lucy’s to become humans and live a better life. Although this may sound easy the pack must go through many tough challenges to reach the goal of being a human. This includes learning how to walk, talk, act appropriate and many others. Throughout the time at saint Lucy’s Claudette has transformed into a human, but overall she still has some learning to do before she can truly be one. You can notice that her learning process has taken time and effort and she has grown from stage 1 to stage 5. At this point in the reading most of the girls are getting to act less like wolves but once again you can still tell that they are humans. On page 237 of stage 3 it says “I felt sorry for them.” This quote shows a great example of Claudette using human qualities because Claudette is showing emotion for other people. When the girls were wolfs they did not show feelings or emotions. Her showing this proves that Claudette is transforming. This quote is using characterization to show Claudette's feelings and how she is adapting to being a human. Another quote in stage 3 to show Claudette is still a wolf in many aspects is when she was playing checkers on page 237. The text states “King me,” I growled, out of turn.” In this quote she shows both human and wolf qualities. She shows wolf qualities because she had growled to one of the girls to give her a piece. She did this out of turn making it even more wolf like. This quote also shows her developing as a human because she was playing a board game which takes a lot of thinking that a wolf usually does not have. Overall in stage 3 Claudette has shown many human like actions but she also has shown many wolf actions making her right in between wolf and
