During her time as a Dominican sister, she converted many people to Catholicism. The people saw her charity and her love for others and wanted to do the same thing as her in their lives. Many people from all over the area would come and see her everyday asking for advice in their home lives and on their faith journeys. Even their higher authorities of the time came to her asking for advice, including the pope and the bishops. Catherine had the God-given gift of being able to read people’s hearts. She was able to see and smell the goodness and all the evil in every person’s heart and soul. Also, she was given the gift to be able to know exactly when and where she was needed by someone. When she would get one of these “callings” she would always go and seek out the person in need and treat them for as long as she needed to before returning to any of her other work. For example, she once got the calling to help two prisoners who were being sent on their way to be executed. She saw them walking through the town being tortured on their way to the place they were to be killed. Catherine prayed to God and asked him to help them during their time of need.
