Saint Bernard Description

The Saint Bernard is a strong, muscular dog. They love people, and are, patient, obedient, slow moving, extremely loyal, eager and happy to please. Saint Bernards have a strongly developed smell, and also seem to have an extra sense for sensing danger from storms and avalanches.

Their massive head is powerful. The feet are large with strong, well-arched toes meant for climbing through the mountains. They have a long broad tail, and droopy ears resting on the sides of their head. They usually have white legs, a white chest and neck, and a white stripe down their forehead and on the sides of their muzzle.
