Easy to Say by Sahar Mustafah was the short story I have chosen to read for my reading process report. I found the story’s plot and characters to be intriguing. It seemed to me that Shireen and Mahmoud didn’t knew each other well enough to be married, so it felt strange to see Shireen be so accepting of it and putting so much effort into their marriage. What seems even more bizarre to me is that their marriage appears to be working out for them. I could understand why Huda was so resentful of Shireen. It had to be extremely creepy and uncomfortable for her to have to accept a stranger the age as her as her mother. I found that Shireen handed Lu’ay’s situation at school very well. The way she defended him must have given him a good impression
