A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…
The funnist roller coaster is the Gate keeper! The Gate Keeper has lots of hills that drop straight down. The rapter is my favorite ride. The rapter is my favorite because you go upside down and all around. These are a few but there More to choose from.…
After you go through an amazing Cat Dipper ride friction and air resistance bring the roller coaster to a stop with some help from air brakes at the very end of the ride. The wheels of roller coaster rub along the rails, creating friction. It slows the roller coaster down. Enjoy the ride and come…
I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…
Once you are down the mountain, you are lifted towards a loop. In this loop, you are experiencing a centripetal force, or the force an object moving along a circular path to move toward the center of the path. You experience a large g-force in this loop due to your position upside down. When nearing the end of the loop, you experience projectile motion, as a result of being shot from the top of the loop throughout the rest of the roller coaster. You travel beyond the loop during this roller coaster and swirl around an over-sized snowman.…

There can always be better designs and more warnings, but to a certain extent the warnings are not read and the designs could make the ride not as exciting. To establish a successful negligence claim we can use the negligence test. The test consists of establishing a Duty, Breach of that Duty, Causation, and Injury. The theme park owes a duty of care to the consumers, by providing entertainment that is well designed for safety, that it is regularly inspected for safety, that people are warned of the potential risks, and that the people are supervised to keep from misuse. In this case, the ride was designed long ago and used in many locations with very little harm to people.…
Another safety feature incorporated into modern day roller coasters is the lap bar. The lap bar is used to ensure that riders have less of a chance of falling out of the ride while its moving. It creates pressure onto the rider, putting force into their lap, which holds them in place on the ride. There are many different types of rider restraints that are used on roller coasters today, but the lap bar is most common.…
“How am I on this!” I yell as I wrap my sweaty hands tightly over the black side bars. The tallest roller coaster in the world, Kingda Ka. It looked down on us above our miniscule heads. I was with my best friend Jimmy, who is the crazy side of me.…
Cedar Point, the Roller Coaster Capital of the world, certainly lives up to its title. Scattered throughout the park are some of the most intense roller coasters you’ll ever hear of. I was fortunate enough to have experienced the phenomenon of riding atop the Top Thrill Dragster over summer vacation, which lasted only 20 seconds of real time, but will forever be embedded within my long-lasting memory. The fiery orange sun began to submerge below the line of the horizon, far out across the calm, murky waters of Lake Erie.…
Sit back, buckle up, and get ready to scream because I love roller coasters. My family and I go to Cedar Point about every month in the summer, and my dad and I go and ride everything in the park. It is just so fun! The one thing I really like about roller coasters is that there are little rides for the youth kids also. My least favorite thing is when I am not tall enough to enjoy a ride, which doesn’t really occur anymore.…
In just a few seconds they would be off, gone to travel over the track in a bright blur. The screams enclosed the car with the force of adrenaline as it appeared and disappeared in a flash. I heard the happy and terrified screams of the people on the coaster and the booming voice of the ones controlling it while strolling around Paradise Pier in Disneyland with my family. At this point, I hadn't been on the roller coaster yet. I preferred to keep myself on the ground and not on the coaster going up side down into crazy drops.…
My first time at Cedar Point It was June 6th, 2016, the end of my eighth-grade year at TKMS, I woke up, at 5:30, jumped out of bed, got dressed, ate, and yelled at my mom to get in the car, all by 6:20. But of course we weren’t even close to ready, and we didn’t even need to leave until 7:30. So after reluctantly going back inside, to pack a spare pair of clothes, sunscreen, and our tickets (which we almost forgot), we were finally ready to go and it was already 7:40, “MOM!!!” I yelled panicking, “WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!!!” “We’re fine,” my mom said, “now calm down and say goodbye.”…
One who has ever been to an amusement park knows that this is no simple task. Finding the line tested my patience, it made me wonder if this one excursion was worth the nausea and the fear that this roller coaster would entail. I had heard of this hunk of metal, constructed to look like a racecar, and knew that it would certainly test my courage. The Dragster was recorded as 120 mph, the third fastest roller coaster in the world, and had the highest peak in the park.…
Seven years ago, my friends and I went to an amusement park and like any other young child, I couldn’t wait to ride every single rollercoaster there was. I loved each one, irrespective of the number of loops it had or how fast it went. However, this changed when I got on one called the drop-tower. As the name suggests, it was a monstrous tower that carries riders up in a gondola to the top of the tower and then suddenly the gondola drops down. In seconds, it dropped me 100 feet down in the air, as I heard the echoes of a hundred-people screaming.…
