It was irresponsible of me to report of me to report that way especially after all of our instructors have been continuously reminding us about safety and security. This topic is something that we will have to as a class get better at following the rules and protocol for our own safety. Not just in the academy but in our future time spent in that halls or the camps. Once again, it was a mistake that cannot and will not happen in the future.

The juvenile could possibly be a lot larger than I am or could possibly be a female and I would be in a situation where my career is on the line or worst. It is best to always have another Probation Officer with you in a situation like this because of the high-risk that I took when making that decision. There may be other situations where the minor is acting out to get attention and I end up being set up by the minor and possibly someone else. There are many different scenarios that could have happened but I am glad that I learned my lesson before entering the halls and have corrected them as well. I will do my part for my classmates and future coworkers by making sure they have someone who is watching their backs at all times. It is the only way we will be successful in this field and the only way we will be able to stay alive doing this

Throughout the course of a probation officers’ career, their moral integrity is tested each day. Although there are a numerous amount of officers who act ethically on a daily basis, there are almost as many who act unethically. This paper examines a single incident where Meaghan Fields let her temptation and longing for love dictate her actions. These actions ultimately violated the zero tolerance policy (and other laws as well) that were upheld by her department. The issue with enforcing the zero tolerance policy results in a higher likelihood that people will violate it, thus leading to ethical dilemmas.…

Every day, we put the safety of the American people above our own, as we all walk through the doors, gates, grills and sally ports. We chose to jeopardize our lives and the lives of our families to complete the Bureau of Prisons mission, to protect society by confining offenders in the controlled environments of prisons and community-based facilities that are safe, humane, cost-efficient, and appropriately secure, and that provide work and other self-improvement opportunities to assist offenders in becoming law-abiding citizens. We knowingly put ourselves in harm’s way to protect and keep our communities more safe and secure.…

Having a place to house those who have committed crimes keeps those communities safe and protected. With that being said, correctional facilities should abide by the code of ethics or something similar to what has been adopted from the American Correctional Association (ACA).
