I will be analysing and evaluating two books that will be including information about safeguarding and child protection policy in the UK, and how these books will help the undergraduate students with the study of Early childhood studies, ED5016, to meet there learning outcomes, I would be starting off with the literature that’s called ‘Challenging Child Protection ‘and it’s published by McDougall, Stewart McGhee, Janice Waterhouse etc. , The reason why I have preferred this book for my chosen literature because, the book is including information about safeguarding such as children protection and child welfare, child’s right, child abuse, these four that I have named are what makes safeguarding . Which I believe that it is now getting to a serious situation that in all the literature books it is talking about the child abuse, this shows that the undergraduate students that is studying the module Ed5016 can gain more information on different types of abuses. Furthermore, this book includes, law and guidance for safeguarding, process and steps of safeguarding. , these phases of the book I have mentioned will meet many of the learning outcome, understand relevant policy developments, a real life example about the child peter, Analyse and evaluate social policy affecting children and families, these are the main learning outcomes of the module ED5016.
Parents gave many examples of the way in which social policies, most notably those concerning income support, public housing and public spaces, had made life more difficult for them:’ this quote supports one of the learning outcomes such as ‘Analyse and evaluate social policy affecting children and families’ because the quote suggests that there are parents that are having difficult with their house living, so they want to get
