There are over 10 types of STDs and they range from irritants such as crabs and scabies, to causing long term health problems in the cases of Syphilis, Gonorrhea and HIV. Some STDs, like Herpes and Hepatitis B, have no cure, and while most can be cured some STDs are extremely painful. As several STDs have no symptoms or the symptoms are easily overlooked, the CDC recommends that if a woman is sexually active with multiple partners should be tested yearly for STDs and HIV.
