Friendship means sacrifice, understanding one another, and wanting what is best for the other. A bond between two individuals who holds mutual care and regard for each other. John Steinbeck, the author of Of Mice and Men, showed what real friendship is within the bond of Lennie and George, the main characters of the novel. The two main characters, Lennie Small and George Milton, two friends who are completely opposite of each other developed an exquisite friendship throughout. In so many different ways George have interpreted what friendship is. He stood up as a father figure to Lennie, making sure he does the right thing. George also guides Lennie as he faces obstacles that life throws. Lastly, he showed the real meaning of friendship, sacrifice.
