As I was growing up, I did not have the presence of my father around me. While he was working in Canada, my mother and I lived in Sri Lanka, desperately wanting to reunite with my father in Canada. Three months after I turned three years old, my mother and I finally arrived in Montreal, Quebec. Unfortunately, the content family that I pictured so vividly was soon demolished.
