We chose individuals who got on buses which stopped at State University Drive, we did not count individuals who were getting off buses. The participants were not chosen based on age nor gender. We assigned subjects to each condition based on whether they had a smartphone in hand or not.
Materials

The observer who used the smartphone used the notes application on their phone and typed the 4 different conditions for both males and females. All three three

In the heart of San Francisco lays the University of San Francisco. Due to USF’s location in the urban area, students are exposed to cultural diversity and the city life, as stated by Ariana Pistorina, the presenter and assistant director of admissions. My choice to attend this presentation was mostly influenced by USF’s location near the Golden Gate Bridge. USF’s main focus is on social justice, which is why USF students learn to be open to experiencing new religions and cultures. An interesting fact that I learned about USF is that theater students perform their plays at prisons that have a relationship with USF.…

Have you ever wondered why there are so many car crashes at stop lights? Well with the info that I have collected and also info that I have found by doing a little research I can give you the answer. data that I have collected shows that four out of every ten teens are on their phones at a stop light, and five of every ten adult drivers are on their phones at a stop light (if you were wondering I collected all of my data on the same spot). Now you may ask why being on your phone at a stoplight is bad, well this is because say for instance you are on your phone at a stoplight you quickly look up from your phone and think that the light is green. But by the time you realize the light was red you're being plowed over by a semi.…

The research method of this study was within subjects design. Researchers only measured the variables in this study under 3 different conditions in three different conditions where all participants experienced all conditions. These conditions were created by establishing a baseline control group, having participants drink a mixture of vodka and orange juice to attain a blood alcohol level of .08 percent, and have a conversation with a researcher on a cellphone. This aligns with the goal of the study to establish a relationship between cellphones and drunk driving. Temporal precedence helps to establish causality by showing a cause and effect relationship.…

Procedure We conducted a naturalistic observational study at the two crosswalks between 8:00 am and 9:30 am on a weekday. We recorded data at each location in intervals of 20 minutes. While collecting data, we sat near bus stops within view of the crosswalks in order to reduce subject reactivity. Data was collected by each researcher according to the previously stated and agreed upon operational definitions. Each researcher recorded one variable: car type, car color, group size, and car stopping.…

The setting of my 2nd focus child was a Little Bucs in the preschool room (Inventors) in the classroom, but we did visit the ETSU library during my first observation. They are 48 months-60 months. I observed a 48 month old, male. I will refer to the student I observed as "P." I observed from 10:00-11:30 both sessions. The classroom was reasonably big, but the floor was opened with toys and an upstairs area where the students can go and hang up there.…

The hypothesis is that talking on a cell phone impairs driving skills. This experiment would take place in a controlled driving range where factors like weather conditions and the type of car driven would be identical. It is important to eliminate outside factors that might skew the results. It is the researchers job to regulate the experiment in all areas so that the only difference between the control test subjects and the dependent test subjects is the use of cell phones.…

For my shadow study, I observed a student from 8-12 at Metcalf Laboratory School. This student had short brown hair, was wearing a gray sweatshirt, and was smaller than his peers. The first class that the student attended was Health, and since the class was still relatively new due to it being a new quarter, he seemed to be adjusting well. At the beginning of class, the student was attentive, and as I was paying attention, I noticed that he enjoyed talking to his peer who sat next to him. The other thing that I noticed was that he sat in the front and was paying attention to the teacher during class time compared to his peers who were not as attentive to the teacher.…

I chose to attend a community college for three main reasons: affordability, location, and small classes. Right out of high school I started college at a public, four-year college, University of River Falls; I had to drop out a month in due to medical issues. At that time I was unaware that I could make a medical appeal and get a full refund, so when I tried college again I was over a thousand dollars in debt from my first attempt. I’m on disability, so my income is limited and I can’t work that many hours. The location of my current community college, St. Cloud Technical and Community College, is right by most of my doctors, so the location is a great fit for me.…

In order to scientifically analyze a situation or problem we must first observe it; in social science, we must observe the real world (Hunt & Colander, 2011). In order to accomplish this task, I chose to observe the use of technologies in a mid-range restaurant. The restaurant is known for being family friendly, but also caters to the sports enthusiast. The technologies readily available to customers include flat screen TV's displaying various sporting events, a tablet at each table that offers the ability to order, pay, play games and explore the area, free WiFi is provided though out the location, and the decor is bursting with festive lighting for the season. Additionally, there were many cell phones and smart phones visible on tables or in use, and a few personal tablets.…

Some of the stations are set up at the desks while others are on tables throughout the classroom and the floor. One of the activities was the "library corner" as Mrs. Cooper explained it to me, she said that there are several books in the library and the children are encouraged to open them, look at the pictures, read them aloud, or to a friend. Furthermore, Mrs. Cooper explained that many of the books in the library were ones that they have already read as a class, and this gives the children confidence because they are already familiar with it. Another station in the classroom was set up on a table and on this table were a bunch of buttons, I would guess about 100.…

What I found most interesting about Management is how I could use some of the studies and things I learn in psychology, and relate to the some of the theories for example the Human Relations Movement, and the Hawthorne Studies. Moreover, I found the first chapter about very interesting about the managerial because when I go to work and look at my managers and supervisors and think about what about I learn in the book, and compare what I learned and what I see at my job. For example, I had one of manager who always planning, making decisions, communicating, and leading before the things goes out of control and making sure things goes right for the store, the employees, and the customers. Although the SPC was extraordinary when it came out, the smartphones from the 21st century are more advanced than the SPC’s potential could ever reach. It has been a productive and efficient factor in being able to connect people through a touch of a button.
