She inspired and inspires others because of her selfless personality, her humbleness, her courage, her love for her family, and her willingness to help people she couldn’t even talk to. I truly did admire Sacagawea before researching her more, but after I did, I found an incredible amount of admirable traits about her; way more than I ever could of imagined. At the present post-research time I admire her because she accomplished things that took every ounce of her courage, something, had I been in her position, I probably wouldn’t have been able to do. She also did all of this without complaining or putting her needs, selfless or not, before others. This one decision revealed so much about Sacagawea, and changed her life completely. If she hadn’t of been possessing such courage she would just of been another Native American who became married, had kids, and lived a normal life. However, because Sacagawea is one of a kind, she went on a journey that would go down in history with her as an inspiring hero. Her decision to leave behind her home and newly found family with a child on the way shows the amount of courage, selflessness, and holy-heartedness that she had. Although I’ve said that she possesses these traits several times before, the amazingness and rarity of her and her personality can’t be emphasized enough. Setting aside Sacagawea’s incredible personality, her achievements speak for themselves. During that time when Lewis and Clark were exploring these new lands, their relationships with the Native Americans was rocky. The Native American hero, Sacagawea, made it possible, through speaking to them with her child and by just being there made it possible for Lewis and Clark to go through their expedition with zero violence. If violence had happened the land may never have gotten explored until much later, which could have changed our country in several ways, with nearly all of the ways being
