Sabrina Quantity Of Work

Improved Essays
. Quantity of Work:

This year Sabrina has been working at getting her backlog of casework completed. She began the year behind by 31 cases. She was assigned 40 additional lab cases throughout the year, not including crime scenes she was called out to. Sabrina worked on her backlog and the newly assigned cases and is currently pending 6 lab cases.

This past year Sabrina responded to 58 crime scenes. This is an average number of calls for our analysts. Among those calls Sabrina was responsible for 4 homicide scenes in which she was the lead analyst. One of these scenes was a buried body recovery that took two days to work and an additional day when the scene of the crime was discovered in an apartment. Sabrina was assisted by other

She rarely expounds on the small details of a crime scene and it would be nice to see her do this.

3. Work Habits and Characteristics:

Sabrina is punctual when arriving for work. She enjoys socializing in the office and while this is perfectly fine sometimes, there are times when this socializing can be a distraction to those around her.

Sabrina could be more organized and neat in her work areas including her office, her lab space, and in her vehicle. She knows where everything is but when she is away, it's difficult for others to come in after her and find what they're looking for.

One of my favorite traits that Sabrina possesses is her willingness to take a crime scene call no matter if she is on call or not. I can call her after hours or on her day off almost anytime and she will invariably take the call out if at all possible. She doesn't whine or quibble about it, but rather takes the information and heads out the door. At the office if I give her a call, I know that she'll be out the door in a matter of minutes rather than piddle around. She understands that deputies are waiting on her and that their time is

Safety:

Sabrina wears proper PPE when appropriate, both in the field and in the lab. She offers recommendations as she deems necessary and reports injuries or faulty equipment promptly.

7. Other:

Sabrina is a Post Certified Instructor and this past year she has taught a block of instruction at the deputies academy. When she teaches this block of instruction she incorporates practical exercises into her classroom instruction so that the recruits get some hands-on training in evidence processing.

Recently Sabrina volunteered to teach at a high school EVIT forensics class. The coordinator for this was very pleased with her instruction and has asked her to return for additional classes.

This year Sabrina had the opportunity to attend a 40 hour training class on Understanding Exclusions and Sufficiency Decisions in Latent Prints. She also attended a 2 day Cold Case Homicide training class and an 8 hour day of training which covered two high profile homicide cases worked by other local agencies.

I appreciate Sabrina working on her case backlog this year and for all of the work that she has

I am writing to express my appreciation for the opportunity to serve the Town of Fairplay as a police officer and police chief over the past 5 years. When I accepted the position of police chief in July, 2014 I assumed responsibility for a department decimated by the dishonorable, unethical and illegal behavior of former employees. As a long-time resident of the Town I was faced with finding another job and uprooting my family or staying and taking on the task of rebuilding the department. I accepted the challenge with my primary goal making the Town of Fairplay a safer community and improving the reputation of the Fairplay Police Department(FPD). Everyone involved in the hiring process knew I had not previously served as a police chief.…
