Sasuke Uchiha is a character from the anime series Naruto. It is mainly set in the Hidden Leaf Village in the Land of Fire. It is about a boy named Naruto (Yes, the animes title is his name.) and his journey through the ninja world. It seems like a simple concept but it becomes much more complicated as the series progresses. Naruto becomes the best friend of the young ninja who I am analyzing, Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke is a troubled young man due to his past. He is the last living member of his clan, other than his brother Itachi. His brother slaughtered their entire clan before fleeing the village to join an organization known as the Akatsuki. Sasuke now seeks power in order to get revenge on his brother. His Uchiha blood is what causes an extremely powerful ninja known as Orochimaru to attack him and mark him with a curse mark. Orochimaru tells him that if Sasuke seeks him out, he will teach him to control the curse mark and give him power. This eventually causes …show more content…
It is indirect characterization because he doesn't say that he is mysterious, instead he shows it through his actions. Sasuke hides his emotions, tries to form as few bonds as possible and changes his goals at times. In the beginning of the series his goal was to get revenge on his brother, then it was to destroy the Hidden Leaf and it changed once again in the end. Girls fawn over him, yet he only ignores them and everyone else around him. Finally, Sasuke is power-hungry, which is shown through many ways throughout the series. It is both direct and indirect characterization because he says that he needs to become more powerful for many different reasons, but he also shows it by going after Orochimaru and showing his jealousy of Narutos' power. He says that he needs more power in order to kill his brother and to unlock his Mongekyo Sharingan, which is a powerful trait that ca only be accessed by the

Samurai's Garden, written by Gail Tsukiyama, features two main characters, known as Sachi and Matsu, whose relationship evolves from forbidden to true love. The beginning of their relationship is exemplified through Matsu's first visit with Stephen to Sachi's home in Yamaguchi, "As he led me toward the house... his steps lightened, his body relaxed, and he seemed almost young again" (Tsukiyama 26). This quote exemplifies Matsu's alter-ego when he is with Sachi, the first sign of peace, comfort and love emitted by Matsu, which will be replicated eventually by Sachi. Sachi is shown as closed off, hiding her face behind the black scarf, but metaphorically hiding her feelings as well.…

In this chapter, I will investigate the various meanings of auctoritas through the works of Latin authors. The theme of my chosen vocabulary is the language of power and thus it is necessary to compare actual power to the air or appearance of power. The word derives from the Latin agent noun ‘auctor’ which is itself derived from ‘augeo’ meaning to ‘increase’ and the suffix ‘-tās’ which forms abstract nouns (LS 1879). I will be contrasting the use of auctoritas with that of imperium from the previous chapter. Personal Influence or Ascendancy…

One of the integral lessons that Stephen learns is associated with the virtue of fortitude and how it is typified through selflessness, which is expressed by Sachi when she claims, “‘It is not an act of bravery to try to save your own village. It is an instinct to save your own village. Bravery is when you step into help when you have nothing to lose.’” (123) Evidently, Sachi imparts the belief that sincere valour entails the aspects…
