SWOT analysis reveals that one of the reasons behind the increasing loss of Flex n Gate’s market share is payment system used. In other words, customers do not have the later payment option and instead they need to pay immediately after the purchase is made. This is especially inconvenient in making large volume purchase which can be a decisive factor for the client to change their seller. This practice is the remnant of the early-stage period when for the Flex n Gate Company it was important to have the cash flow. However longer-establishment and enough money in the budget can help the company to acquire competitive edge in the form of 100-day payment period which is already being used by some large competitors. Moreover, the company should make some modification in the location strategy. Particularly most of the factories of the Flex n Gate Company are located distant from the large client’s facilities such as those belonging to Toyota or GM. Therefore, it would be prudential to locate their factories near to strategic customer’s firms for minimizing the distribution cost and time. As a result, these factors contributed to the financial and efficiency difficulty in production plants which might cost the company great if certain measures are not taken. Change agents in the company agreed that automation of some manufacturing process will be optimal choice in the current situation. Though automation might involve some downsizing, high-performing workers will be left and trained to control computer process and perform the job requiring human intervention. Consequently, automation can reduce the labor cost, save material and improve accuracy, precision and quality in manufacturing process.
