By researching different social and economic traits, we are able to compartmentalize groups based on commonalities. With this in mind, it is imperative that we define patterns in our target market. Seventy percent of Hillsborough County’s population is aged 20-80+. (This percentage excludes an additional 3,800 active duty military personnel stationed at MacDill AFB.) Identifying the population, by age, gives us an indication of one’s stage of development and who might be more apt to utilize our services. 86% of the population, aged 25 and over, have high school diplomas and 29.5% have Bachelor’s degrees. Education is a good indicator of affluence. Prosperous customers are more likely to employ EZ Clean’s services. There are 94,536 veterans in Hillsborough County, which represent 7% of the total population. Retirees, aged 65 and up comprise 12% of the population (Hillsborough Community Atlas, 2015.) The median household income is $49,597. Based on this demographic information, EZ Clean is resolute that our market share is sustainable as a start-up business. Our ideal customer is a retired, elderly veteran who is downsizing and/or decluttering. Typically, the consumer is 65+, married and owns a single family home with an attached garage. He/she has a steady retirement income/investment and he/she can afford our services. Another segment of society is the active duty service member who is transferring from Hillsborough County to a new duty station. This customer can fall in the 20-50 year old age group. EZ Clean also works with Real Estate agents, Lending institutions and Landlords. Real estate agents often sell properties to investors who buy foreclosed, distressed homes that require junk removal; and landlords often deal with former tenant
