SWA # 4 'A Picture To Remember'

SWA #4 (A Picture to Remember) The picture that I selected is the that shows three firemen raising a flag during on in the midst of one of Americas hardest times, September 11, 2001. The scene was captured by Thomas E. Franklin. The photo sets a real sorrow mood with its back and white colors. The fact that its in back and white makes the scene look even more meaningful. I think that the picture was chose to be printed in black and white to show how dark of a day it was for America. The picture shows how tuff not only American men are but how strong of a county we are! As the firefighters stand on top of rubble, they still raise the American flag to show there is hope! I feel that the picture was taken to capture this devastating moment in American history so that we can always stay in touch with it and never forget. The background is not very clear, just like how Americans felt at the time of the attack. The dust is there but is not thick enough to hide the rubble from the crushed twin towers. Just like we as American’s could tell that something major had happened but there was still a lot to be uncovered. The photo does a great job at making the attack seem so real even to this day. They are going to do what ever it takes to help our country out! Through thick and thin they will work hard and uphold the value and faith placed in the American flag. The firemen look very dirty, showing how crazy and dangerous their day has been. One fire fighter is wearing a t-shirt that is covered in dust and debris. This shows how serious of an attack it really was! It also says a lot about him as a person, that he is a fearless brave hard working man! The picture depicts firemen that look like the all American fit and manly man! It fits in great with the stereotypical “everyday” American man
