SVA Personal Narrative

Decent Essays
I have worked as an admission officer in SVA for 3 months now. I was just a student of SVA a year ago, and it was just like a dream when I got accepted as an officer in SVA. SVA was my dream school since I was in High School. My dream became my career, and I was very happy about my job. Only before I had to read tons of essays everyday. All I did for 3 months was reading essays, and decide whether this student has ability to show light in this school.

Another hot summer in Idaho at another family reunion. I chased after my dad and brother’s cloud of dust; reving my ATV’s (all terrain vehicle) engine I whipped around the land my great great uncle homesteaded on. My confidence grew as did my speed until my wheel caught and spun me right into a log that pierced through the fender and into my leg. It was the first time I ever blacked out. When I came too a few seconds later I was alone; high on the trails of the Sawtooth mountains, blood gushing from my shin.…

It couldn’t have been past 10 a.m. when the alarm went off. We all knew what it meant- we were firefighters, it’s what we do. The fire chief told us that an apartment complex in downtown Boston had gone ablaze, and that it was really bad. We quickly got into our uniforms and hopped on as the fire truck left the station. We were a few miles away before I saw the smoke, a dark giant against the bright blue sky.…

I knew he would because I’m his baby girl and I can get anything I want, but I don’t do that because then I would be a spoiled brat and no one wants that.…

One of the other big things I learned as well is that I don't get to choose the consequences of other people's actions either. I Learned what it meant to be a grown up…

I come from a family of seven with me being the fourth out of five kids. I was always the shy kid in school, so I did not stand out in my classes as much as the other kids. The only thing that set me apart from my classmates and siblings was my grades. Getting straight A’s practically my entire life had made me the go-to person for homework help. Throughout middle school and high school, my younger sister would always get sick with migraines.…

Did that really just happen? “Come join us at soccer tryouts next Friday at the main field after school!” read the big, white flyer which I had picked up previously in the week after hearing about this eye-opening news during morning announcements. I was sitting on the bench outside reading the details as I waited in line for the person whose reaction I was most anxiously waiting to see. As a 5th grader, my first instinct was to alert my mom right away, which is exactly what I did as soon as I got in the passenger seat of the all black sedan.…
