Controls should exist to ensure that offenses and their point values are mapped and entered correctly in STARS when processing with the ACD offense code.
Offenses could be recorded incorrectly due to an incorrect review of both the Indiana and ACD codes related to offenses. Multiple of the ACD codes are tied to more than one Indiana offense with no option to clarify the correct offense, which is why incorrect offenses and point values are entered into STARS when processing with the ACD code. The incorrect offense could also be recorded on a customer record due to an ITD error in STARS.
For the STARS coding errors, a Change Request was submitted by Lori Schein, Deputy General Counsel – Legal, to correct the ACD code errors. The Change Request was scored during the Business Advancement Team meeting on July 19, 2017 and added to TFS (Epic # 51830) as an item to be
