I am interested in applying to SMU because it is a well rounded college. The business school at SMU is known for being fantastic and it really attracted me to the university. There seems to be a lot of school spirit around the athletic teams, most notably the football and basketball programs. Also, I really like the city of Dallas, even though I have only visited it a few times. I was particularly interested in the fact that SMU has a 11:1 student-faculty ratio because I like how the university can offer more individual attention.…

I am a good friend of the Trossman family, but I am also a nursing student in my final year hoping to get a job as an RN in The Hospital for Sick Children (HSC) after I graduate. Over the past ten years I have formed strong relationships with families of children who require constant and complex medical care. Jacob Trossman and Taylor, Cole and Brody Florence are just the few I can name with permission. Prior to nursing school, the parents taught me the skills and knowledge needed to perform each child's needs in order to maintain safety as a priority during our outings. I was able to take them to the park, Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) and even sleepovers at my house without their parents being constantly worried how their children would manage without them nearby.…

Pursuit of Happiness Unlike most of my colleagues, I have spent an extra year pursuing a DDS-MPH dual degree program to further my interest in the underserved population, a pursuit that has enhanced my understanding of the complex relationship between health, oral health, and the human condition. Specifically, I worked on a research project that used Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) methods to assess the relationship between oral health and nutrition among vulnerable seniors who receive home-delivered meals in New York City.…

Life is an everlasting journey of growth and development. In order to grow we must first admit to our faults, and stop engaging in behaviors that hinder us from becoming a better version of ourselves.
