SOHOPE Completion Specialist: Case Study

AHO staff welcomed Tiffany Dougherty the new SOHOPE Completion Specialist. Tiffany will be helping SOHOPE students at the end of their program. She will be instrumental in assisting students in writing resumes, enhancing their interviewing skills, soft skills and providing students with locations of potential job opportunities. If any of our AHO staff members know of job opportunities, please share this information with Tiffany.

Teri asked if Tiffany happened to know of any new student practicum sites to please pass along to our TSCs. The TSCs can follow up with the practicum sites that can turn into jobs.

Next, the AHO staff introduced themselves to Tiffany.
Brooke reported that Nicole Briggs and Michelle Stewart will move this week to RVC Building A. This will be helpful because the SOHOPE staff will be closer to each other.

But, Genna felt that because it is an Allied Health facility space AHO should be involved with the installation of a new phone line.
Brooke asked if there was a list of immunizations for all programs. TSCs conclude that the immunization list was the same for all programs. Also, Brooke inquired about program student handbooks and Teri expressed that updates were in the process for the handbooks. Brooke felt the handbooks would be helpful in SOHOPE planning.
Brooke reported things were temporary quiet due to a change in background check, which is being done after eligibility is determined. Furthermore, there is 20 students ready to go through random assignment and approximately 30 students in the treatment group.
Jeremy explained that all certified background checks (CBC) have package codes. Jeremy is working with Christine (eligibility and background checks) from WorkSource to sort the current dilemma. Jeremy will be the point person for the CBC and the necessary people will get access.
Action Item:
Get a new phone line in RVC-A14 and revise program
