S in SMART stands for Specific. Make your goal focused and precise. Out of all the songs, I choose to learn “Fur Elise” by Ludwig van Beethoven. At first, I was cracking my head thinking which songs I should learn. Then, I end up choosing Fur Elise because the melody has already get stucked in my head and that is my mom’s favourite song. Thus, I narrowed down my options, and go for this instead.
M in SMART stands for Measurable. I ask myself how I am going to make sure that I have achieved my goal. …show more content…
I relate my goal to my life’s reality. I think that by learning a musical instrument which is new to you, it increases a credit in your life. As least you show passion towards learning something new. It could be a memorable moment for you, so that in future you will be proud and say that I learned this before when I was younger. Make no regrets in life and go for what you think that it is worth fighting for.
T in SMART stands for Timely. SMART goals should have time limitation. I plan to complete my goal in 8 weeks, which is perfectly fine. I don’t want to put myself in a lazy mood and I’m afraid that I end up procrastinate too much, so when I set my goal to be accomplished within 8 weeks, it actually motivates me to learn faster and more efficient. There is a difference between a long term goal and a short term goal. I wish that in future, I would learn as many songs as possible, which will be my long term
