Improved Essays
It is a challenging goal because I am in graduate school and have other personal commitments that are also time sensitive; however, this goal is attainable because I have access to the resources that will allow me to achieve it. The target date of completion of this goal is February 28, 2017.
The second SMART goal I have a desire to develop is my conceptualization skill. It is critical that I develop this area for future success. This SMART goal will improve my leadership development because improved conceptualization will help me to see how to best integrate the different facets of my life (Covey, 2004) and allow me to consciously work to incorporate planned decisions in my daily routines. To develop my conceptualization skill, I plan to take a different but creative route. Within the next two months, I will enroll in a ceramics art class to learn about conceptualization techniques from a nonbusiness and creative perspective. I will also request the assistance of a time-management mentor, to help me plan my monthly schedule with more consideration of my time and my personal limitations. I believe the new skills that I learn from these activities will help with the development of my leadership style, because it will help me become a better thinker and planner for my team projects.
