Encouraging Cultural Diversity in SKECHERS USA, Inc. SKECHERS USA Inc. introduced their first line of sports utility footwear in 1992 and have since broadened their product line to lifestyle and performance footwear. As of January 31, 2014, SKECHERS employs 2,944 people full time and 4,828 part timers for a total of 7,772 (2014 Annual Report). According to their 2014 Annual Report, they made $2.378 billion in 2014, which is a 28.8% growth from the year before. They plan on continued growth by opening new stores, increasing shelf space, launching a clothing line, and widening their intended demographic.
Trend minded men and women are endeared by SKECHERS’ youthful brand appeal, as well as athletes to their performance footwear. They have several brands created by their fashion forward design teams and they are sold

When stereotyping, ethnocentrism and prejudice take place in the workplace, minority groups feel less appreciated resulting in being less conscientious and less involved (Iverson, 2000). Iverson refers to this “mismanagement of diversity” as leaving negative workplace consequences resulting in a weaker job performance.
Why We Chose Encouraging Cultural Diversity
Team Sharknado chose the organizational behavioral process of encouraging cultural diversity in the workplace because our team itself is very culturally diverse. Managing organizational behavior globally will ultimately become a “top priority” and having cross-cultural understanding will be imperative (Ivancevich, 2015).
Ignoring cultural diversity can have disastrous results and can lead to conflict. Diversity increases creativity and innovation due to the additional perspectives and knowledge shared within a culturally diverse group. Due to America’s changing demographics, workplaces can no longer ignore diversity and must implement changes to diversify their company to match today’s
