On the day of Shelby and I’s presentation I was excited to share our fun and interactive math activity with my classmates. We incorporated a lot of SIOP strategies that were explicitly shown in our slides throughout the whole presentation. It was extremely helpful to receive feedback from our peers about other ideas, strengths and weaknesses in our lesson plan. Some of my classmates told me that we should ask questions that extend their thinking so I included this during the lesson and this was really helpful advice. I felt as though this time spent in SEI practicing for our peers and teacher was useful. After this presentation, Shelby and I took the advice from my classmates and went through with the lesson in our 2nd grade mainstream classroom.
