In Youngstown Sheet & Tube Co. v. Sawyer which discussed the issue of inherent presidential power; the Supreme Court ruled that the President did not have the inherent authority to seize private property without authority given from Congress. In Justice Black’s opinion, he makes it clear that even if the president had the power to take over the steel mill he needs to have a congressional statute and it can not be used to settle labor disputes even if they were to disrupt the economy as the president argued. He also says that the seizure cannot be justified due to the president being Commander in Chief by saying that “we cannot with faithfulness to our constitutional system hold that the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces has the ultimate power as such to take possession of private property in order to keep labor disputes from stopping production. This is a job for the Nation's lawmakers, not for its military authorities.” He even goes a step further in saying that the Executive’s job to make sure that laws are faithfully executed…

Simon was correct to question whether or not Frosty Co. could capitalize some of the interest on the new loan. After checking with GAAP, it was determined that Frosty Co. cannot capitalize the interest on the new loan as part of the construction project on the new factory. According to GAAP, three conditions must be met in order for the interest to be capitalized: expenditures for the asset must have been made, activities that are needed to get the asset ready for its use are already in progress, and interest costs are being incurred. Unfortunately, Frosty Co. does not meet the second requirement.…

After being placed on emergency placement for “mismanagement”, an agreement was signed on December 16, 2009 under which Green’s emergency placement ended, and he was allowed to use accumulated leave to compensate him for the suspension time. He was removed from his Englewood position and given the choice between taking a demoted position in Wyoming, 300 miles away, with a $40,000 pay cut, or retiring. Green ultimately submitted his resignation on February 9, 2010, effective March 31. On March 22, he contacted an EEO counselor, 41 days after his February 9 resignation and alleged that, given the choice he was forced to make, he had been constructively discharged. Green sued and the District of Colorado court found that his signing the December 16 agreement triggered the 45-day filing period for his constructive discharge claim and thus held it…

I do not think that Keller should remove Bronner only because his son is joining the IDF, he said that "either you are the kind of person whose intellectual independence and journalistic integrity can be trusted to do the work we do at the Times, or you are not,” which proves that Bronner holds his journalistic ethics high, mostly because he feels such a respect towards his own profession. In fact, Keller made Bronner the bureau chief because of Bronner honest reputation and experience. I think Hoyt, should have responded to the public, saying that there were several considerations to why Bronner should remain as bureau chief, such as the fact that he is an excellent reporter, it is even believed by Keller that Bronner “has covered this most…
