The SBU was designed to teach third grade students about how change affects both humans and the environment. It contains five lessons: three are about changes to the Earth’s surface, another is about area, and the last focuses on changes to Michigan’s economy. Each contains guided practice, independent practice, and assessment(s). They have been crafted to meet the needs of diverse students, such as ELL and kinesthetic learners.
