The Crusades is defined as a medieval military expedition, one of a series made by Europeans to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims in the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries. The Question surrounding the crusades is whether it was caused by the devotion of religion or for the desire of political and economical gain. The crusades may of seemed like they were based around the idea of greed throughout the Catholic church but really it was based on God and how he got the people through such tough times. The primary reason for these crusades was religious devotion including many factors like their love of religion and faith. This devotion of religion and faith in the time of the crusades is expressed in a collection of documents written by different historians that lived in this time…

After reading, “SATs Help Colleges Make Smarter Admissions Call” by Gaston Caperton. I found the article to be biased in favor of the SATs. Considering the author is the president of College Board, which owns and develops the SAT, his writing obviously contains bias, and maybe the reason why the article had a one-sided perspective, that offered little to any factual evidence to strengthen his claim. If I had to rate the author’s bias out of 10, I would give him a 2/10, because of his credentials. Most of Caperton’s premises are clear and overall support his claim.…

Although the new SAT and ACT are both very similar in terms of material and neither is preferred over the other, the SAT is a more appropriate for me as it is a better alternative to my test taking skills and more relevant to my career choice. According to the article, “Which One Should You Take?,” the ACT has a science section of the test while the New SAT doesn’t include “a science section. The “science” section of the ACT is easy to master, and has nothing to do with science. But if you hate it, then the New SAT is your savior” (Doc 1).…

When I say that I’m a Muslim, they don’t react like, ‘Oh, I don’t want to be your friend because you’re Muslim.’ Some people here don’t even know where Bosnia is, but they’re really nice and try to help. My scores are Sequence 22, Precision 20, Technical Reasoning 19, Confluence 14 My dad seems a bit opposite from me. His technical reasoning and confluence would be quite high for him because he is extremely handy and can create things easy, always find new or simpler ways to complete tasks and a man of little words. His precision and sequence would have pretty high numbers as well. He really doesn't have much of an avoid aspect.…

Terrorism is an extremely prevalent problem in the world today. Every month there is news of a bombing in some city, or a shooting in some neighborhood, and Western media has made Islam the face of terrorism. While Jihadists only make up a fraction of the proponents of terrorism, the media has caused “terrorism” to be synonymous with “Muslim.” Even understandable acts of rebellion, like the liberation movement of Palestine against Israel, are seen as Islamic radicalism because misguided individuals perpetrate acts of terrorism. The movie Paradise Now, by director Hany Abu-Assad, shows the ordeals of two friends, Khaled and Said, who enlist in a Palestinian resistance group to coordinate suicide attacks on Tel Aviv, Israel.…
