The journey to becoming a competent nuclear medicine technologist takes you through many stages, is very challenging, but extremely rewarding. The program at SAIT consists of 10 months of learning the theory/skills/principles for the profession and developing our confidence and knowledge. The CAMRT and ACMDTT has procedures and protocols that are mandatory for SAIT to use as guidelines to ensure that the students are progressing into competent technologists in order for them to gain certification. SAIT also supplies its students with one full year of practicum doing hands on learning with other nuclear medicine technologists, which helps enhance our learning and allows us to develop into competent technologists.
