S-Howie Mandel Case Conceptualization

S- Howie Mandel talked about his daily routines and escribes not been able to touch any door handles because he suffers from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. The client described that touching people with this hands gives him anxiety and prefers fist-pumping instead of giving a hand shake to people. He also describes that when he gets ready to work on his TV show all his makeup utensils are brand new and out of the bag. Howie also talked about his personal appearance and how he decided to go bald by choice he stated that it “feels cleaner.” During the session the client also shared how he felt embarrassed about his condition and there where many times he wanted to give up. While he was talking, he dropped a pill on the floor and refused to pick it up. When he was child he described been an outcast in school, he never finished high school. His condition has also affected how he interacts with this family. His wife shared that she always knew that there was something wrong but they never knew what it was. The family has a second home just for Howie so he can spend time alone none of his family can go inside the home. When the children or wife get sick, Howie does not go inside the room or touches them. …show more content…
