Unlike cartoons which tend to stray away from some of the more sensitive topics, Rwby jumps headfirst into controversial subject material and lays them onto the table for discussion. For instance, it intertwines a strong theme of discrimination and racism with the many sub-races of humans identified as Faunus. Because the Faunus all have a distinguishing feature similar to that of an animal, the humans are scared of their differences. This fear forces the Fauna into slavery for centuries. . Eventually, the Faunus revolt and gain rights in society. This pulls from our own slavery in America, and how even today discrimination still exists., While Rwby’s themes may use some idea’s from America, Japan is also guilty of using American culture to push its own agenda. Obviously, CGI is not a major focus of anime and Erotama still uses a great deal of traditional hand drawn art to balance the use of CGI. Rwby is entirely CGI, this leads to breathtaking fight scenes that you can’t seem to look away, combining grace and violence in a brand new way. (Slotnik, The New York Times) However Rwby is not the only anime like this. The anime series “Straight Title Robot anime” is completely CGI and is made in Japan. This series focuses on a cast of characters that are in the third dimension. Its image quality is on par with how the first volume of Rwby looked, even if its story is lacking a bit. Rwby has both high quality images and strong plot structure. s Rwby continues to grow more popular, their budgets expands accordingly. A larger budget allows them to increase the quality of the animation. Over the years, the quality of Rwby has increased and it can only get better. They are truly masterpieces! In addition to the
