The United State knew Rwanda was in crises but chose to ignore information so they shouldn’t intervene. This was just after the Clinton administration, the U.N mission failed in the Somalia. Rwandese were not even the black American (nigger), the super power can’t even intervene it a waste of time for them . This was unluckily for Rwanda since the super power didn’t even consider Rwandese as worthy people to save. People had to find their own way to save themselves from brutal killing and hunger. The only western people who had remained in Rwanda through the entire time of genocide were the head of peacekeeping force Romeo Dallaire. He tried everything to protect the Rwandese Tutsi from getting killed with the limited help he had with his force . Mr Dallaire had shown courage and did his job, which was to protect Tutsis who were hunted. He wanted to intervene more and protect the Tutsi civilians but he was not given an official authorisation or enough resources to do so .
In the other case French government had no interest on being a part of intervening in the situation. A report was release that the French government was proving the Tutsi’s extremist with weapons to use during genocide . Even though the French government claimed the report weren’t true allegation against them . Even in the movie of Hotel Rwanda the Hutu gentlemen who was helping the Tutsi civilian from getting sluttered, said the French were in contact with the Hutus extremist proving them with suppliers .
