First, the Rwandan Genocide violates the right to no discrimination (article 2). This article says that no human being should be discriminated against because of race, sex, language, religion, political or other opinions. This article states that no one should be subjected to torture or cruel, inhuman treatment or punishment. During the genocide the Hutus put the Tutsis through many forms of torture and cruel punishment. One example of this is what they would do to the women. The Hutu men would rape and mutilate the Tutsi women's bodies. In some cases they would even cut off their breasts. Another form of torture they would do is make people kill their own family member. The Hutu wanted the Tutsi people to suffer and feel pain as revenge for being in power.
