Relationship Building

One of the relationships I admire in the bible is the bond between Ruth and Naomi. In the book of Ruth, the author explains how Ruth was willing to sacrifice everything she once knew to follow Naomi back to her hometown Judah. She did not want to leave Naomi alone. Ruth 1:16-17 (New International Version) expresses her feelings towards Naomi, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me”. Ruth’s actions explain a lot about her character. She sounds like a woman

First, the genuine love Ruth had for Naomi made their relationship unique. Most daughter-in-law’s do not necessarily care for their mother-in-law, but Ruth had an unconditional love for Naomi and displays that love in verse sixteen and seventeen. She treated Naomi as if she were her own mother. Secondly, Ruth was committed to Naomi. In addition, she was willing to give up her family and everything she once knew to seek the Lord’s face with Naomi. Ruth stated in verse 17, her commitment would not waver even if the Lord would bring death upon her. Lastly, Ruth was loyal to Naomi. She made sure if she was blessed Naomi was blessed. Every blessing that she received from Boaz she made sure Naomi reaped from the harvest as well. If she ate, she made sure she fed Naomi as well.
I did not recognize and negative aspects in their relationship. The entire story was about love, sacrifice, honor and displayed faith in God.
One thing we can learn about relationship building through the bible is love. Love is a key component that is expressed throughout the entire bible. No matter if we are reading the story of Naomi and Ruth, Abraham and Isaac or Mary and Joseph. There is a pattern of unconditional love for one another, also a lesson for each one of us on how we should love one another. Furthermore, because of their love for God, the Lord used these men and women

Both Ruth and James dealt with the death of Hunter Jordan much differently. Ruth had acted to herself and James was very outspoken with his actions rather than his words. James made his first statement when he had dropped out of highschool because he started failing all his classes (Chapter 2). James also began to get into petty crime like shoplifting he even claimed to have robbed a drug dealer at one point in his life (Chapter 2). James when he was cutting school would hang out with his friends to go to the movies, smoke weed, wave razors, and ride the subway (Chapter 2).…

Displayed in chapter 1 is a dichotomy between sinful and godly relationships. Paul speaks of his longing to be with the Romans and his desire to “impart to [them] some spiritual gift to strengthen [them] – that [they] may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” (1:11-12) We see a few verses later that those whom are not of God who practice sinful lifestyles such as envy, deceit, gossip, and ruthlessness, “not only do unrighteous things, but give approval to those who practice them.” Throughout Scripture we see a plethora of broken relationships, from Cain and Abel, to Jacob and Esau, Joseph and his brothers, to Samuel and David, to name a few.…

While at hailsham, Ruth became so accustomed to following what people did and said, that she had no distinct identity trait. Copying the veterans filled the void of Ruth that was her identity what they did she did, and that’s who she was. Masking of Ruth’s identity lead to her being an exact replica of everyone around her while masking the true identity of someone like Tommy’s turned him into a stand alone, that couldn’t do anything like the others. “If Tommy had genuinely tried, she was saying, but he just couldn 't be very creative, then that was quite all right, he wasn 't to worry about it” (Ishiguro.27).Again in this quote…
