In human context, diversity discusses the variety of cultures, languages, ethnic groups, socio-economic backgrounds, opinions, and religious beliefs.

In order to understand and respect others, it is most helpful to know where and how people live. By studying other cultures we can learn the differences and similarities between people living in different countries around the world.
The first step is one has to respect other person no matter with whom. Respect consists of the acknowledgement that the person you are interacting with is a person with feelings, thoughts, and most likely a life changing issue is at hand – maybe a death, a divorce and maybe a birth. Respect offers eye to eye contact. Maybe a smile. Respecting someone is a way to show that you acknowledge them as a real person. Acknowledge their presence. Respond kindly if they talk to you.
Next, one also has to recognize the unique contribution that each person can make to the ongoing cause of human progress through imagination and hard work. Don’t be overly concerned with another person’s religious or political affiliations but instead ask of the people you meet: Are you making the most of your life? When you look in the mirror, do you like what you see? Can you see yourself in another person and treat the other accordingly? When you awaken in the morning, are you hungry for higher heights?
