In the book of John 5:44 Jesus says, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. The Catholics teach us that we can begin the process of having a relation with the Father, but then we need the Father’s help. The Arminian’s teaches us that we can decide to believe in Jesus Christ on our own.

Jesus Christ is the one true God. Our Savior needed to be our one true God in order to make a sufficient atonement for our sins. Christ suffered and died on the cross as a ransom on our behalf to rescue us from Satan. This act could only be obtained by the one true God himself. Christ also had to be true man in order to be able to suffer and die for our sins. He also needed to show us how to live the life we should and were meant to live. Active obedience is: 1) keeping the commandments, 2) fulfilling the law, and 3) pleasing the Father by His life. Passive obedience was displayed when Christ allowed himself to be beaten, suffered, then crucified, and died on the cross for us, and was buried.
