Although I had many amazing experiences at Russell Byers, the majority of my years were pretty grim. From 5k to 6th grade, I was bullied for my appearance, even after graduating I found myself crying because I was never able to defend myself. When I was accepted into Mastery, the first thing I did was change myself. I ask my mom if I could get my hair straightened and I shaved the hair off my body in hope that people would be more welcoming to me. While I sat in class, I would feel nauseous from the cold air hitting my skin and as a result I kept myself covered even during the summer. Because my hair was not naturally straight, I would remove any curl that would appear with a straightener. This act of conversion worked for me, I made several
