Running Record Reflection The student I assessed with the Running Record is a 4th grader named Gracie. Gracie, loves fairy tails and amusement parks. I began by explained the assessment procedures to Gracie. Firstly, the passage I selected was “Steeplechase Park”. I introduced the passage as a nonfiction text. Gracie started reading at a good speed. However, after looking at a word for a few seconds Gracie skipped a few words throughout the passage. My immediate thought was, she has trouble with multisyllabic words. I wondered if she had any special cues to decode the skipped words. Secondly, I asked Gracie to summarize the text. Gracie, summarized the text, and told me the most important ideas
