He says, "I am playing with this." showing the airplane to that boy. Tom talks to the boy, " Why don't you build something else?". He swirls his airplane into the air in a circle with making "ah~~~" sound. He put it down on the floor and picks up a small wood block. He moves his block on the tracks that other boys already built together with long wood blocks. He stands up and walks to the container and pick up more blocks. He puts the block on the track and moves it like a toy car. When he sees another block on the way, he says, "I can't move." and crashes it with his block. His block and a few blocks are out of the track and some of them fall on his leg. He starts to build blocks again and puts one big one to under a bridge part. He says, "Broken road, broken road." One boy next to him calls out police. He picks a small yellow car on the floor and moves it back and forth on the wood block. He picks up two more cars from the container. Quality Area 6 is an area of the National Quality Framework (2017) that articulates the importance of collaborative partnerships with families and the community, with the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (2017) arguing that these partnerships are essential for excellent outcomes for children, and the surrounding community. The idea behind the preschool comes from Piaget’s theory that children learn by a process of adaptation, assimilation, and then accommodation. During the first step, they interpret new stimulation in ways that fit with what they already know. As the new information assimilates, the existing knowledge modifies and creates a better match. Lastly, the child’s understanding gradually changes from the interaction with the environment.…

I observed Terrie’s Preschool class on October the 16th at Hillside Christian Preschool. During the observation I saw many actions where Terrie would respond to a child and give positive responses, showing the children “yes what you are doing is great, keep up the good work”. During my observation I was watching and looking for how Terrie showed modeling and what her tone of voice and language looked like. I watched for how Terrie was showing the children physical contact and in what way, and her use of language toward and around the children. It is very important to use language and words that children are going to respond to, that children will think is supportive, and they are being encouraged.…
