The average American spends half of their waking hours looking at a screen, equating to 20 years of their life. Technology has evolved how we spend our time, turning free time into screen time. Some argue that this evolution is for the best, technology is a massive asset for spreading knowledge and education. Others say we need to start limiting our use of this technology, for it becomes more distracting than productive. The solution is to use the vast powers technology has granted us for good, for knowledge, and then limit the amount of time we spend using our phones as entertainment devices.…

I think the Russians are running rampart in our systems like Face Book and stirring up Americans. Why I think this is because all the hackings and different viral activities that go on have a big impact on Americans. I think that this also had a big impact on our last election, because of all the chaos, mass shootings and just different events that all took place leading up to the election. Also I think that the impact that the Russians had was the different attacks that happened as well. Social media always has an impact, what people say on social Medias and how the world and the government pursue it all makes a huge difference on society and it’s American people.…

How Technology is Affecting My Life I have always wondered what would happen if we didn’t have technology, and how technology has been affecting my life. This week I have documented everything and all the websites I go on. I used the “Moment” app to track how many hours I spent on my phone, computer and my iPad and how many times I check my phone. This app was very helpful and made it easier and more accurate to track myself. I always knew that I spent a lot of time on my phone and I’m always very distracted…

Every year when spring cleaning rolls around, I always rummage through my closet to organize the years worth of junk I’ve hoarded. In my closet sits my pink, bedazzled Motorola Razr that I treasured in middle school. Though my minutes were limited and I could only play a demo of bejeweled for free, my first phone had a special place in my heart. It was only ever what it was meant to be; a back up, only to be used in emergency situations. As I put away my first phone, I walk out of my room, instinctively grabbing my iPhone that is always by my side.…

My target age group (14 – 18) use Social Media on a daily basis – this was a staggering 72%, or every second day being 14% 1 – 2 hours a day. The oldest group 41 – 50 had a 60% every day to 40% never used and the usage time of only 10 – 30 minutes a day. This shows that the older generation don’t hold Social Media to the same status of teenagers, and probably hold more face to face conversations/visits as their choice of communication. The current trend for adolescents is to communicate on a wider basis through Social Media and this is growing. My personal opinion is that Social Media affects teenagers today and for the future due to new applications (apps) being invented bigger and better than the last.…

However, this convenience has slowly turned into an addiction when that said piece of technology has to be brought along everywhere with its user regardless of the inconveniences that may occur along the way.
