Running Girls On The Run Journey

When I was in fifth grade, I was on my school’s Girls on the Run (GOTR) team. We spent 25 or so weeks training for a 5k race, learning life lessons, and building friendships along the way. For me, the best part was the running, I had a lot of energy growing up and running was a way for me to unleash it. The lessons were, for the most part, fun, interactive activities that tricked us into learning. I can truthfully say GOTR helped shape me into the person I am today and I am forever grateful. Running Girls on the Run is my fondest elementary school memory, so when I realized I could once again be involved with the organization, I jumped at the opportunity.
