I started running for sport when I was in third grade. The gym coach at my elementary school introduced me and a handful of other girls to a program called girls on the run, a program that trains young girls to run a 5K. I will never forget the feeling I felt at the end of that race. I felt so accomplished. I felt as if I was on the top of the world. I felt my very first runner’s high. I have noticed that whenever I am running on a daily basis I am less stressed and all around happier in general. Running releases positive endorphins in your body, and running consistently has been proven to allow people to live happier lives. Another thing I love about running is that is makes it easier for me to focus. I am diagnosed with ADHD, so it is incredibly hard for me to focus without my medication; but, I have noticed that while I am consistently running it is easier for me to focus without taking my medicine. Running keeps my mental health stable and helps me to stay efficient. While I am running daily it is easier for me to manage my time. I have realized that while I am not running I am really bad at managing my time. Running will always be a huge part of me because I cannot function properly without
