These children have no one by their side and feel alone. Nicole was only 10 years old when she ran away. She went through a lot as a child. She was abused by step father, who constantly got drunk. She didn’t feel as if she had anyone by her side expect her best friend, Stacey. Stacey had been killed by a missed aimed bullet. Once Stacey died, Nicole knew she was on her own, so she ran away. “Now Nicole stuck up in the world on her own. Forced to think that hell is a place called home. The fact that children are running away is a problem. It’s an even bigger problem because the children are at a very significant risk of running into something worse than what they are running from. A 15 year old child had run away from home. She ran into some men who forced her to work in a pot farm. They had kept her hidden in a metal chest for several days. The two men also sexually assaulted the child. Thankfully, someone saw the action of the men taking her, and was able to inform the police (Buzznewsnow).
