Rule Of Four

Improved Essays
After reading The Rule of Four, I was highly disappointed in the later half of the book. This was because of its terrible conclusion, which left a very bitter and sad aftertaste until the point where I think the book was better without the ending. The book sets a very emotional tone from the start. We are faced with characters who have gone through so much in search for their ambitions, whether that be cracking the Hypnerotomachia or mending a loving relationship (in the case of Katie), all while revolving around a group of best friends “who seemed to understand …[each other] ... from the very beginning” (15). This was to protagonize the characters, to make readers want to support them and watch them succeed, which I did as well. The ending, however, was a letdown to say the least. First, Paul dies in search of needed blueprints and in a few quick page flips, we are taken through five years, while both friendships and relationships are rapidly degrading as “gradually names … disappeared” (353). The Hypnerotomachia goes seemingly unsolved and Thomas begins “to fall out of Katie’s life entirely” (360). We only learn that Paul is alive and the secret crypt is found in the last few paragraphs, further tormenting readers who wonder what’s next.

With America’s unstable health care system, there can be terrible repercussions from citizens being unable to obtain proper treatment. Sick: the Untold Story of America 's Healthcare Crisis-And the People Who Pay the Price by Jonathan Cohn investigates the history and impact America’s healthcare has had on various people around the United States. There are ten stories that showcase how the lack of a decent support system in health insurance can have big consequences on a person’s life. I think the book is good for any student or scholar who wants a look into the pro-universal healthcare point of view, but not for an objective idea of health care reform. Jonathan Cohn is a senior national correspondent at The Huffington Post.…

I know I am no expert after reading this book, but I have already picked up on little things my friends and family could improve on in their own relationships. For an example, my brother and his girlfriend, Bobbi. They have been off and on for about six years now and can never seem to figure out what keeps happening to make their relationship fail. I had a conversation with Bobbi this weekend about their relationship and I discovered they are the king and queen of the four horseman. Whenever they argue it is always criticizing the other.…

Rule 10b-5 applies to any purchase or sale, by any person, of any security. Clauses 1 and 3 of rule 10b-5 use the terms fraud and deceit which must occur in connection with a purchase or sale but need not relate to the terms of the transaction. For example, in Securities and Exchange Commission v. Zandford , the U.S. Supreme Court found out that Zandford had violated the rule 10b-5 of the act 34 by engaging in a scheme to defraud the Woods and misappropriating their securities without their knowledge or consent; that his practices were not independent events; that each sale was made to further his fraudulent scheme and that each was deceptive because it was neither authorized by, nor disclosed to, the Woods…
