Rugged Maniac Festival

Great Essays
I started out both days of a busy weekend by running the Rugged Maniac course in Englishtown NJ. At this point, I have pretty much done most of the OCR’s that are on my bucket list to complete, but Rugged Maniac was one of the few left that I had yet to complete, so I was excited about this weekend and the chance to run the course on both Saturday and Sunday.

• Festival / Spectator Area:

I have participated in four other different events at this specific Englishtown venue and all but one have used the same section/area to setup the festival area. Rugged Maniac used the area much like the two previous OCR’s that setup in the same area and created a well-balanced area with two obstacles setup just next to the festival. The DJ/MC also did a

After crossing the second trampoline, it was time to climb back up another slanted wall with a rope ladder attached to it and then back down a final ladder wall and off the Antigravity obstacle. The course continued on a very brief distance and up next was “The Warped Wall” obstacle, which was a very challenging warped wall. I was able to make it up the wall on both days without assistance, but the volunteers where awesome and very quick to offer any racers assistance if they needed help with getting up the warped wall. Once on top of the warped wall, the next obstacle was “Mount Maniac”, which was literally attached to the warped wall and was a rope net that racers climbed across. This was a cool section of the course because the rope net was suspended over the entrance to the spectator/festival area so racers where literally climbing just above people coming and going to the event. Once passed the net, there was a very short ladder wall climb and it was now time for the last obstacle of the course, the “Accelerator” which is a massive water ramp slide down in to a few feet deep pool of water. I asked the volunteer if I could slide head first on my stomach and he said yes, so that is what I did both days. The funny part is the same kid was at this obstacle both days and he was shocked to see me back on Sunday and ready to go head first again. This was a very fun obstacle and I am sure it’s a challenge for anyone that has a fear of heights. The course continued on a very brief distance more to the finish line and completion of a fun and challenging

In the story, Maniac Magee, the author Jerry Spinelli developed Maniac as a smart character. One example from the story of how Maniac was considered a smart character was on the pages 10-13. In these pages, Maniac was roaming the town of Two Mills and ran into many people. The first person Maniac ran into was a girl named Amanda Beale, who kept all of her books in a heavily guarded suitcase. When Maniac and Amanda were talking, Maniac asked for a book, and at first, she said no, but then because of all Maniac’s knowledge of books and of how nice he was she finally said yes.…

Recently, I had the pleasure of viewing a musical play on horseback. With over thirty-two horses and a cast of top trick riders made this an unforgettable experience. The play was a five-course dinner and a three-hour show all at the same time. This beautifully synchronized show Dolly Parton’s Dixie Stampede Dinner Attraction is performed at Dolly Parton’s Stadium in downtown Branson MO. At first glance, I was amazed by how clean and organized the whole building was.…

When the first one was finally done what seemed like three hours later, we only had one minute before we were going again, and after that everything got progressively worse. By the time we finished running the second time around the hill, two people had already thrown up. I really wanted to, especially with the thought of having to run eight more. After we ran the sixth one, not only did two more throw up, but six people had given up completely. I really wanted to give up, too, but I was determined to finish!…

I got soaked. We had to take our hands off the rail and we went swirling like a tornado and a spiral. At the end, there was a huge bump and we went down the smooth surface Finally, we crossed the bump, but at the very end of the ride, we went really high and touched the black rubber path at the very top of the ride. I finally thought that the ride was amazing to go on. My thoughts before were wrong.…

Philly Rec Fest On September 27, 2014 I attended the Philadelphia Rec Fest at the Carousel House Recreation Center. It held activities for people with or without physical limitations including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, rock climbing, and even scuba diving! I volunteered for this event rather than the other 5 events because I wanted to contribute to helping the people in our city of Philadelphia. It was amazing to see how many people came out to not only support the event, but also to participate.…

My first time at Cedar Point It was June 6th, 2016, the end of my eighth-grade year at TKMS, I woke up, at 5:30, jumped out of bed, got dressed, ate, and yelled at my mom to get in the car, all by 6:20. But of course we weren’t even close to ready, and we didn’t even need to leave until 7:30. So after reluctantly going back inside, to pack a spare pair of clothes, sunscreen, and our tickets (which we almost forgot), we were finally ready to go and it was already 7:40, “MOM!!!” I yelled panicking, “WE’RE GONNA BE LATE!!!” “We’re fine,” my mom said, “now calm down and say goodbye.”…
